POM Technology is merged into Aikawa Fiber Technologies Oy and Aikawa capital equipment and complete lines are offered, delivered and serviced for European customers by Aikawa Fiber Technologies.

On January 1, 2012, the legal entity POM Technology Oy in Finland was merged into Aikawa Fiber Technologies Oy (AFT). As a consequence of the merger, all rights and liabilities will be transferred to Aikawa Fiber Technologies Oy.

Aikawa has built a foundation as a premier supplier of stock preparation technologies and engineered wear components through the acquisition of specialist companies such as AFT, Finebar, and POM Technology. Now, all the companies are organized under a single brand to provide customers with alternatives to the packaged offerings of the “Big Box” major suppliers. It is our belief that customers prefer the freedom to select the best single equipment, with process know-how and expertise to put systems together when required.

An example of how investment at AFT Varkaus plant is used to deliver state-of-the-art performance is the recently introduced MacroFlow2 screen cylinder. We could not have built MacroFlow2 even five years ago. The advances in precision industrial lasers, robotic insertion devices, and other manufacturing techniques now make it possible to achieve our design goals of accuracy, precision, and mechanical strength.

The new AFT organization puts emphasis on performance components (cylinders, rotors, and refiner plates), stock preparation and approach flow systems.

AFT offers rotors for virtually all screen models and makes. Our replacement rotors are as good as the OEM original – and we offer unique designs (GHC™, SPx™ and EP™) which enhance performance.

AFT FINEBAR® refiner plates and segments are made for virtually all LC disc refiners - and a range of conical refiners. The benefits have been confirmed: higher quality fiber with less energy consumption.

The latest solutions in stock preparation and approach flow from AFT deliver considerable savings in energy and water consumption – while significantly improving machine efficiency.

POM’s wet end technologies are based on a novel approach: simply less. By reducing volumes, removing air early, providing smaller footprints for the same capacities, etc. – POM’s equipment makes for simpler solutions for retrofits, upgrades, and new machines.

AFT offers a range of equipment for approach flow, stock preparation and pulp handling, including recycled fiber. Our systems for OCC and DIP have a uniqueness which allows customers to do things not possible with competitive equipment. Our specialists help you evaluate process needs and configure a solution – either as individual equipment or complete system solutions.
