Flanged globe style control valve
The Badger Meter flanged flow control valve is suitable for the control of medium to ultra-small flow rates when using liquids, gases or steam in general industry, research, development and pilot plants.
Due to its compact size, it is particularly suitable for the dosing of additives, for sampling and for hydraulic systems with small flow rates.
High pressure control valve
The high-pressure control valve type HP-10 is used wherever the standard type RC200 comes to its limits due to too high pressure.
The high-pressure control valve type HP-10 is the right valve for liquids and gases in high-pressure applications with medium to small flow rates and is available as a globe or angle valve.
Low noise ball segment valve
Somas ball segment valves type KVTW LN (KVTF LN) with a centrically mounted shaft and KVXW LN (KVXF LN) with an eccentrically mounted shaft were developed to reduce noise levels.
The reduction in the noise level is achieved by the installation of a noise-reducing device. The noise-reducing device is mounted behind the ball segment and consists of several steel rods in a specific arrangement. These steel rods distribute the pressure drop over several stages. This reduces the noise level and prevents any cavitation.
The KVTW LN and KVXW LN are supplied as wafer type valves and the KVTF LN and KVXF LN as flange type valves.
Low noise control butterfly valve
“The Somas butterfly valve type VSS LN is a low-noise control valve with a metal seat. With the “”low-noise” noise-reducing device, flashing and cavitation problems can be eliminated and low noise levels can be achieved.
The wafer valve is designed for a wide range of liquids, gases and steam at temperatures up to 550°C.

Metal seated butterfly valve
“The Somas metal seated butterfly / shut-off and control valve type VSS is suitable for controlling and shutting off liquids, steam and gases over a wide temperature range.
The triple eccentric design allows the use of a solid stainless steel seat due to the special contour of the disc. The disc geometry and the shape of the seat provide excellent tightness.
The seat is resistant to high flow velocities and ensures good tightness, even under difficult operating conditions. The seat, which is available in different materials, can be replaced.
The VSS valve was developed as a wafer valve and can also be supplied as a lug type valve (with threaded bores).”
Metal seated butterfly valve for exhaust gas applications
“Somas has developed a range of metal seated butterfly / shut-off and control valves for exhaust gas applications that meet the requirements of EN 12516-2 and ASME B16.34.
Typical applications for these valves in diesel engines, gas engines and exhaust gas systems are:
waste gates, EGR, turbo shutdown, slow steaming, air bypass, gas scrubbers, heat recovery
Somas exhaust gas valves have many technical advantages.
The geometry of the disc is designed in such a way that it only comes into contact with the seal when it is fully closed. This ensures that the wear on the sealing surface is kept to a minimum and a long service life is guaranteed.
The valves have a solid seat design and are therefore resistant to clogging.
The shaft bearings are designed as standard in metal-to-metal pairs, which means that the valves can be used without any problems in high temperature applications.
All valves are supplied as standard with a graphite gland. Other materials are available.
Somas VSS / HT and MTV / HT valves are bi-directional and can therefore be installed in both directions.”
